Three Year Olds
Many three year olds have never been in a class setting before. Knowing this, we begin by helping the children learn to feel comfortable as they transition from being with their parents and family members to trusting and feeling safe with their teacher and other preschool staff members. We want to gain that trust by providing a safe, loving, fun place for them to play and in which to learn.
- Colors, shapes, letters, painting, putting together puzzles and building with blocks are just the beginning of what our three year olds will experience throughout the year.
- They will learn how to interact with other children, work toward being able to sit for 10-15 minutes as they listen to a storybook, and follow two part directions.
- The development of physical agility will be advanced as the children learn to manipulate such things as Play-Doh, tweezers, and scissors and learn to string beads, walk balance beams, and ride tricycles.
- Seeds of faith are sown with spiritual influences that are all focused on the Lord, such as songs, stories, and prayer. Your child will be taught that the Bible is God's Book and that it teaches us how to obey Him. It also teaches us all we know about God and Jesus. Your child will hear that God is the Creator and that He is all-powerful, perfect, and our provider. We will talk about how God is a real person who loves and cares about him, even when he is bad.
